Bracket Innovation was commissioned to develop a brand new web presence for Fez Meghani, a internationally renown musician. We just launched the website this past Friday and thus far it has received great reviews by the client and his fans. The client’s record label, PlaneTunity Records is already in talks with us to develop a few more websites for other ongoing projects.

This new website has the following functionality plus more:
- Youtube video player embedded into a small T.V. screen on the homepage to showcase the client’s music videos.
- Ringtone Download section (fans can listen to sample of ringtones and download them directly from the website).
- Boombox / Music Player – that can be updated and managed by the client
- Buy Music – E-commerce component of the website that will allow fans to purchase single songs, and albums (this can also be customized for digital album or physical albums/items).
- Lastly, this website is fully manageable through a content management system (CMS) so the client can modify anything they please on the website within seconds.

You should checkout the website out for yourself at www.fezmeghani.com .

Don’t you agree that a new and improved web presence can boost your revenue? We have done several case studies for our clients and in conclusion, we’ve realized that a proper investment in your online brand presence has a significant and track-able impact on your bottom line. It’s simple, right? Well, it’s surprising how many companies still don’t connect the dots and understand this so we’re out to do a marketing campaign to explain this message to the world. We want to educate our client and other business owners that if you haven’t invested the proper time and resources into making sure that your web presence is top-notch, this is the time to do it! Help us spread the word. Do you know anyone that needs a new website for their brand, whether it’s an e-commerce website or informational site, let us show them what an impressive website can do to their bottom line.

Beyond using the Internet to have a presence online to serve as a shop front for you business or getting the pulse of your current market trends. There are resources that can give you secondary data to look over demographic data, and industry trends by professional business analysts. These are just a few of my favorites that took me through my undergraduate career.

CIA

The CIA Fact sheet is a great place if you are working internationally. Want to know how your business partner ‘s currency measures up to yours? What the key industries in a country are? Cultural norms? This is place to look for it.

Census

Want to learn more about the people in your area? The highest paying zipcode in your region? The racial demographis and psychographic evaluations? What better place than the Census? It takes a while to sort out the information. Unlike the super snazzy analyst membership or software what you get out of this is raw data. It’s pretty time consuming but knowing your target market and where you are in terms of geographically can be priceless for your future business strategies. Only con for this is you’re going to have to keep an eye out for the dates and make sure you factor in any important event that may have affected your area.

Hoovers

If you want to cliffnotes for a company this is the place for you. Want to see what other competitors are doing? What leaders in your industry are doing? This is the place for you. In general you can get the basic information free however you are also given the option to purchase more in depth reports. Also since Hoover’s only reports on publically traded companies you won’t find any privately owned company’s information.

Mintel

This is information that is packaged nice. As a visitor to the site you can access only a little bit of the data. Like Hoover’s, Mintel requires you to pay a certain membership or subscription to use their database. But what you can get for free is pretty awesome. (Many a Industry Project paper written by me have had Mintel articles in the works cited.)

MarketingPRof

My Godmother just recently sent me a link to this site–I wish I’d know about this a solid 3 years ago….>.< Want to check out up coming research from business models and marketing strategies? This is the place for you.  It’s a great place to find articles about upcoming trends.

With these tools alone you can make an educated decision about your businesses future and evaluate what you’ve been doing right and what you’ve been doing wrong. It’s no guarantee that what these analyst say is going to happen will happen. However, as my marketing research professor said over and over again, Knowledge reduces uncertainty.

One of the best places for someone to keep track of what is up and coming in regards to internet marketing is to browse through blogs. You can find out trends from your industry by  doing something that I like to call “blog surfing”. You can see what not only your competitors are doing but what the internet trends of your target consumers are.
Since I’ve been planning my wedding, I’ll use this as a quick example of how “blog surfing” can work for you. One of the girls that I follow on my RSS feed just got married and directed me to Martha Stewart’s website (she is one of the featured bride on the November Issue). From there I followed a blog feed to a blogging community of brides and lost myself in the ideas, inspiration boards and locations.  from there I could have easily gone to another 5-6 blogs. These blogs were photographers,  brides to be, newlyweds, wedding planners–you learn a lot!
Just think, if you’re getting your news about upcoming marketing trends from the news–they have to find out about it somewhere. Keeping a pulse on blogs that are of your industry or spotlight new ways to market online keeps you if not one step ahead of your competition at least in line with them.
I’m spotlighting The Social Robot because of how much great information you can find on it. It’s a great place to start your blog surfing if you want to learn more about storefronts and marketing campaigns online. They sometimes even explain internet lingo that even I didn’t know about.
I like The Social Robot primarily because of they’re perfect blend of tech savvy posts and marketing campaign shout outs. They are providing you with step by step instructions on html embedding and market analysis while also talking about yahoo’s yodeling competition or “Paranormal Activities” social media viral marketing.
As someone who isn’t knowledgeable in the actually application and creation of websites and social media sites I appreciate that they are taking the time to really explain that to me.

Take a look at The Social Robot and remember to look around at other blogs in your industry. It’s a great (and free!) way to keep a pulse on the marketing trends in your industry.
